Iowa River Flood Update

As services proceeded this morning, the flood waters continued to rise covering about 1/3 of our parking lot. Here are a few pictures from last night and this morning.

These pictures were taken yesterday (Saturday) around 6:00 pm. This is looking westbound on Taft Speedway.

This picture is looking east on Taft toward Dubuque.

Our parking area.

Here's a comparison picture of the same parking area this morning during our second service.

Dubuque street southbound into Iowa City.

Crandic Park off Rocky Shore Drive.

City Park north of the University.

We'll keep you posted if the decision is made to begin sandbagging the church and regarding this weeks Vacation Bible School starting tomorrow morning at 9 am.

You stated the CNN news story might be on Saturday night, the 14th. Did you watch that presentation? I watched one at about that time. There were four news reporters featured. Three were in Cedar Rapids, Des Moines, and Iowa City. The fourth was a young lady in a studio who showed a picture of Kinnick stadium, and then another picture, provided by an airplane pilot, which she said was Kinnick stadium flooded. Did anyone else see this? If this is the way it was stated, the Kinnick presentation clearly was not true.
