Bookcrossing.com

Check out bookcrossing.com. This is one of the more unique innovations I’ve seen from the Internet. To the best of my understanding this is how it works. When you are done reading a book you register (at the website) and “release” it to the public by leaving it in a public location to be found by either an innocent passerby or by someone intentionally looking for it who saw it’s location on bookcrossing.com. The idea is simply that people keep releasing books and sharing them with others. I doubt I’ll use it because I have a specific reading list and tend to keep every book I read; however, it might be an interesting experiment for you to try. You can read more about it here.
